The Miccosukee Indian Arts and Crafts Festival is an excellent activity for the family that takes place every year at between Christmas and New Years.
Indian musical arts are a big part of the yearly festival and each day of the festival the entertainment changes. Please lookout for future videos in this series that will showcase the musical talents of the White Mountain Apache Crown Dancers, The Great Plains Dance Company, and the Iroqouis Sky Dancers.
Special presentations are given daily at the festival on preserving the Everglades and the relationship of indigenous people with the Everglades.
Admission is about $15.00 for an adult and lower costs are available for children, Indian tribe members, military and senior citizens.
The admission is well worth the price for a day filled with activities for people of all ages.
The Miccosukee Resort & Gaming is located near the event and is an excellent place to stay overnight if you are visiting from out of town. The resort has a free shuttle service that goes to and from the Indian Village every hour from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

I lived my entire life deep in the Appalachian Mountains of South Eastern Kentucky and now live in Southern WV. My family had been here on one side, I am an enrolled member of the Eastern Band Cherokee and Muscogee Creek so we have been here since the beginning and the other side came into the Appalachians with Daniel Boone in the 1700's. It it the most beautiful place, but sometimes scariest places you can imagine. We lived way back in a holler, during the summer when we were out of school we would not see hardly anyone other then family at all we were so far back. We grew up with stories of Ut'lun'ta the one with spear fingers, and Yunwi Tsunsdi the little people, and alot of other characters from the scotts Irish Welsh of the other side of my family, haints, and witches, I think there is alot of truths, I think there is something spiritual about and powerful about these hills. I have seen things, felt things, heard things, that I can't explain. Heard others who have had experiences. I think there is something special about these hills
